IN THE BEGINNING......
Second Home Carers was conceived over a pint of beer, or two (or was it three ?… no one was really counting) in the Berkeley Arms at Bosham, sometime during the warm spring of 2009.
It was me and a local gardener called Keith having the conversation.
Keith is well known around Bosham and services many gardens in the area, many of them belonging to Second Home Owners.
Keith, knowing that I like to re-invent myself now and again, and knowing I was ‘looking for opportunities’, suggested that there might be a chance to launch a product that would pass massive benefit on to Second Home Owners in the area.
The concept started because there is no one single point of contact with local knowledge of the harbour area to whom Second Home Owners or Holiday Home Owners can look to to look after their property, provide and arrange for services.
The idea is that we conduct regular, scheduled, peace of mind external and/or internal inspections of your property to ensure that YOU know everything is ok, and if it isn’t , then you get to find out very quickly through our comprehensive service. That's a great benefit to you, because it gives you complete Peace Of Mind.
Furthermore, you can be sure that if you do need services to your property, then Second Home carers will only source LOCAL services.
We even have a Chef on our books. Trained at 'Le Gavroche' no less.
There is nothing more reliable than a network of like minded workmen who can confidently recommend each other because they are all aware that the network is self supporting and there is no room for weak links.
The harbour has a good local network of word of mouth tradesmen.
You the homeowner decides whether or not to employ these services, we just tell you if something needs fixing. Even if nothing needs fixing, you will have complete peace of mind that goes well beyond insurance coverage, and indeed, your diligence in employing this service will give you leverage with your insurance company.

A Criminal Records Bureau Check (CRB) has been completed for the owner, Neil Holley-Williams, and is clear. A copy is available on request.
Basic Disclosure (termed as a “criminal conviction certificate” in Part V of The Police Act 1997 – the “1997 Act)”is available to anyone for any purpose subject to confirmation of identity of the applicant and payment of the appropriate fee. The Basic Disclosure will contain details of convictions held in central police records which are unspent according to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (the “1974 Act”) or will state that there are no such convictions.
